Ón Vicífhoclóir, an foclóir ábhair shaor.

This template used to insert the heading Litirfhocal (for "Acronym") which is a coining I’d never heard before.

Acronym doesn’t appear (as far as I can tell) in either the English-Irish Dictionary (De Bhaldraithe, 1959) or Foclóir Gaeilge-Béarla (Ó Dónaill, 1977).

It is included in Foclóir Ríomhaireachta is Teicneolaíochta Faisnéise (Fiontar), Foclóir Litríochta agus Critice, Foclóir Parlaiminte (Foras na Gaeilge, 2001) and Oll-Liosta Téarmaíochta 1985-2002 (all of which are available online at acmhainn.ie).

All of these sources give acrainm as the Irish form so I have changed the template accordingly. ☸ Moilleadóir 14:26, 17 Meán Fómhair 2007 (UTC)[reply]

acr is a language code for Rabinal Achí. Other sites have run into this problem too. The french have solved it by making al the language templates =xx= or =xxx= that frees all the -xxx- for other purposes.
